The things you own end up owning you.
We are a consumer society. It can no longer be denied and it is hardly worth fighting with. At the same time, we're living in the rise of the machines era. It's happening not quite as Cameron or Wachowski were imagining it. The machines are not killing us, but stealing our time and making us the slaves of routine. E-flow of documents, endless e-mailing. These technologies have got even older than some of their users. But these tools are not optimized enough yet. If earlier novelty could account for that, now it only shows the human helplessness against their own creation.
Whether we want it or not, our main consuming product is data. The more data we need to consume per day, the less focused we get and the more time we waste discovering and understanding the contexts. The three pillars of doing business with the help of electronic devices are docs flow and project managing systems, messengers for internal communication and email services for interaction of companies. Let's go over our supposed friends who betrayed us at the time when we need help so much - the digital era.
What is their sin?
- Raw data
- Complexity of data structuring
- Absence of full integration
- Style differences
Even the products of the same line, produced by the same company, cannot fully integrate data among themselves. It speeds up the process of data copying, but still leaves them not linked. In such cases, it is the loss of data context that is crucial. It causes the worst thing - 'raw data' appearing. It isn't important why information is losing its context: different levels of involvement, access or just lack of knowledge concerning a subject. In such situations, you have to make inquiries, look for additional information on the Internet, ask again and wait for a reply. All that is wasting our precious time. Loss of time causes additional expenses, along with wasting the most important thing - your personal time.
When repeatedly exchanging data and giving access to files, even the most pedantic person gives up at some point. And then their incoming messages and data store just turn into information dump. Using the saved data gets possible only via search by name. However, you should not forget that information is always divided by boundaries. These boundaries create separate files: whether they are docs, tables or presentations. First, you have to find a file, and then search for the required part in it.
However, just like in the classics, there is a machine fighting on our side, which is able to give us an advantage in confronting the hidden enemy.
We experienced the same thing as each of you. But we have formed resistance to the information storm and united around the determined chaos destroyer. And we call it nTile. It is much more than a standard service. Its essential weapon is linking the elements and making data templates.
After dividing the text into elements we have a possibility to work with smaller parts of data at a time: from the entire paragraph to one word. Distributing the data according to contexts, you can link the elements and share not a single file or its extract, but the whole chain of context linked information. Now we are saved from boundaries, which instead of structuring the data often just prevent from seeing the whole picture. nTile doesn't want you to have to continuously switch between the tabs with different tables and docs, comparing data in them. Our aim is to let you focus on efficient work and its results, rather than ensuring some working processes.
Do you remember a scary information dump, which we were talking about earlier? Forget about it. The left panel, which all users are used to, and which is always in sight, becomes responsible for collecting data and is always at your fingertips. It gets possible again thanks to our 'right hand' - structuring.
We have something to tell you about data templating. Each element can contain the precise structure with different kinds of fields: date, number, additional text, and also the most important - the link to another table of data and elements. A person still needs some limits and boundaries. But let them not hide anything, but rather encourage the proper thought structuring, making them competently and logically designed and well-perceived by each side of the working process. In such a way we get rid of extremes, which are common to everyone.
We can change the future by changing the present. And the future is nTile's. However, it's only you who can really affect how soon the future will come. Do you want to spend precious minutes of your life looking for information, or you want to do your work and have free time to live? We are offering you to use only one service instead of several. We don't want you to get lost among the huge number of discussions and chats. Stop using long scrolls, unnatural for our eyes. Stop copying, start reusing. Share your thoughts, not words!
